Alpha Phi International Fraternity
Established 1872

Alpha Phis are members of a lifelong sisterhood, a woman’s fraternity. Our keystone is friendship–warm, simple and sincere. In Alpha Phi there is encouragement, understanding, and opportunities to grow. With members all over the world and collegiate and alumnae chapters throughout the United States and Canada, our sisterhood knows no bounds.

The Strength of our fraternity is in the many who are different, but who share like ideals.

Our keystone is friendship warm, simple and sincere. We are a circle of friends, a family away from home. Within our sisterhood you will find encouragement, understanding and opportunities for growth.

Purpose

  • To unite the sisterhood as a family of friends bound together by a common set of ideals.

  • To provide an environment where through mutual help and alumnae support the collegiate members may be helped toward intellectual and spiritual growth, to the end that they may become effective and contributing members of society and meet the challenge of their generation.

  • To promote worthy standards of scholarship and explore new paths of scholarly pursuit.

  • To develop and maintain the highest standards of character, culture, and personal conduct.

  • To foster and preserve the heritage and finest traditions of the fraternity idea in college life.

  • To encourage the participation of alumnae members in Fraternity work and service that they may enjoy the pleasure of life long association and the friendship of young college women.

  • To cherish, honor, and wear with pride a special badge as the symbol of friendship and union.

  • To work together so that the Fraternity shall endure.

The objectives of our Fraternity are the promotion of growth in character; unity of feeling, sisterly affection, and social communion among our members. In all that we do, we try to obey God’s principles of justice and right. We have banded ourselves together to improve our minds and hearts, and we seek to aid each other through a constant watch care always given in love. We believe ourselves to be sincere searchers for truth.

We seek the highest ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity. And we who are thus united are under a solemn pledge to lend a helping hand to one another.
